Wade Watts is addicted to playing in OASIS, a virtual reality universe created by the genius developer James Halliday. An orphan, Wade lives with his aunt and entering the virtual world, gives him an escape from reality. But then most of the people are addicted to OASIS as well, so much so that it had become part and parcel of life itself.
While things thus stand, Halliday dies. A pre recorded message is sent out, describing about an 'Easter egg' which will give the finder, special powers. Whoever finds the egg in the OASIS will inherit Halliday's huge fortune as well as control of OASIS!!
Then starts a frenzy to find three hidden keys which will lead to the egg...
